Take a close look at the 2018 BMW X3, and the differences between it and the current model become more apparent. The character lines are more chiseled, the air intakes up front wider, and there’s LED lighting elements on both front and rear fascias. But as an all-new model, most of the most pertinent changes are under the skin.
A slightly larger wheel-base (2.2 inches) helps the compact SAV’s impressive 50/50 weight distribution, and fine tuning the aerodynamics and slashing weight will aid in gas mileage and performance. On the inside, the panoramic moon roof is 9 inches larger, and the iDrive system has been upgraded to 6.0. The U.S. version of the new X3 will be offered in two models at launch—an xDrive30i with a 248-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, and an M40i with a 355-hp turocharged six-cylinder. Both models come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. To learn more about the new X3 before it arrives this November, contact our BMW dealership in Kingsport, TN at your convenience.
