No one likes walking out of their house every morning and seeing a dirty car in the driveway. It feels good to start your day off fresh and organized with a clean car and peaceful state of mind. If you don’t know how to wax your vehicle yourself, use this guide to get you started.
Get your Car Ready
After you’ve washed your car, cleaned the exterior’s nooks and crannies, hubcaps, and wheels, grab a high-quality streak-free glass cleaner and polish the windows and windshields. Now you’re ready to inspect your car for any scratches or peeling or chipped paint. If you see any problem areas, touch those up before you begin. Thoroughly clean them and use a color-matched automotive paint kit sold at most automotive retailers.
Waxing your Car
You’ll want a wax that matches your vehicle’s finish. For a clean coat finish common in most cars, you’ll need a non-abrasive automotive wax. If you opt for an all-in-one product, you won’t have to wax and polish in separate steps.
In a circular motion, apply a thin layer of wax with an applicator or soft cloth, let it dry, and rub the entire region again with a clean towel. Bring out the shine with the same circular motion, and repeat. You’ll be done before you know it, and your car will be the envy of the parking lot.
