There are three exciting engine designs for the new BMW X7. Starting at the base model level, the xDrive40i is a turbo six-cylinder engine that benefits from a mild hybrid system, losing none of the power but increasing fuel efficiency. It delivers 375 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The next step up is a V8 design with 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The top of the line engine for the X7 is a V8 design with an impressive 630 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.
An intelligent powertrain system optimizes handling and responsiveness on a variety of terrains and a range of climactic conditions. It offers all-wheel drive and comes standard on all trims. If drivers want to tow a boat, ATVs or personal watercraft, the towing capacity of the X7 is a generous 7,500 pounds. The Driving Dynamics control system has four different driving modes to further personalize responsiveness.
