Driving alongside a bicyclist can be simpler than you think. You don't have to become nervous or irritated by them being on the road with you if you know the simple way to share the road with them. Here are some helpful tips from Rick Hill BMW.
There should be at least three feet of space in between you and the bike when you're driving. If you have to pass or drive alongside them, this provides enough space for optimal safety.
Don't drive erratically. If you're swerving in and out of traffic, speeding or flying through a crosswalk, this can make a bicyclist nervous.
Never honk your horn at them.
Always look again before you start to back your vehicle up. It's easier to spot a vehicle behind you, and you don't want to miss someone on a bike.
