Restore Your Headlights With These Simple And Easy To Use Remedies

The headlights of your vehicle illuminate the road in front of you. When they get cloudy, the light may get dimmer and reduce your visibility when driving at night. We at Rick Hill BMW have compiled a quick guide on how you can restore your headlights on your own with a few simple touches.

The first DIY remedy for clearing headlights involves the use of insect repellents containing the substance DEET. Simply spray the insect repellent containing DEET on your headlights and then scrub for a little while. Be careful not to get the repellent on your vehicle's paint as it may eat away at it. The second DIY method involves using sandpaper and polishes to grind away scratches that cause headlight cloudiness. This method is risky as you could actually damage the headlights in the process. It should only be done if you know what you are doing as; otherwise, you may end up doing more harm than good.

If using insect repellent or sandpaper does not sound appealing to you, then there is a third DIY option. Many automotive shops sell DIY cleaning kits. Simply follow the instructions and use the products provided in the kit to clear up your headlights and enjoy better visibility on the road.
